Third Mainland Bridge to be closed for 24 hours

Lagos state government has announced that the Third Mainland Bridge will be completely closed to vehicular movement for a continuous 24-hour period. This closure, which begins on Wednesday, February 28, and will end at noon on Thursday, February 29. This closure is necessary to facilitate a crucial phase of the ongoing repair work being carried out on the bridge. 

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, released a statement announcing this closure on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Works. During this time, all road users are advised to utilize alternative routes that have been provided.

Osiyemi reassured road users that traffic management officials would be present to regulate traffic flow and minimize any inconveniences arising therefrom. Since January 2024, repair work has been going on the bridge, resulting in intermittent closures for both inbound and outbound traffic.
